Movie night

I didn't get to do much of anything this weekend because I was sicker than a dog Friday night, all of Saturday and most of Sunday. My doctor told me I had a viral infection. I was running a 103.2 temperature Saturday night. Since I am so early in my pregnancy I am not supposed to take any antibiotics. So I had to let nature run its course. :(
I'm happy to say I'm doing better this morning. My temperature is back to normal and no more aches and pains!
I am sad I only got to visit 1 yard sale over the weekend...to which it was a total bust. It was made up of mainly power tools and early 90's furniture...boo!
That's all right...I'm sure I will have plenty of time this Spring and Summer to dominate some vintage finds.
On an upside, Hubs and I did have a movie night Friday night...

Believe it or not...I sure didn't at first, popcorn is good for prego's! I'm sure not complaining ;)

This fun tea towel came in a set of towels from my cousin. It was part of a bridal shower gift!
Although I felt yucky this weekend, I still managed to throw some vintage Pyrex in the mix :)
I hope everyone had a happy and healthy weekend!
Happy Monday y'all!

Weekend to-be filled with thrifting, cooking and Pyrex!

I'm getting more and more excited about yard sale season! Some of my favorite finds have been found while passing a home with loads of goodies in their front yard. This weekend I know of several that I plan on going to. One of which advertised on Craiglist to have vintage Pyrex!!! I'm hoping I won't be too late in snagging a good find! Wish me luck!

I plan on using my newest addition to the Primary Bowl set to make some delicious cookies that I've been dying to make!

I can only imagine all of the sweet treats and savory dishes that were served in my favorite ovenware...it makes me smile just knowing my vintage finds have had a fun past :)

I hope everyone's weekend is full with yummy treats, fun finds and fantastic Pyrex!

Babies, babies babies

For the past week since I found out I am expecting, I have done nothing but read about pregnancy. I almost felt guilty when I peaked onto Etsy for a few minutes. I truly feel like everything is all about my child now. I have already made quite a few lifestyle changes to accommodate to a healthy and happy birth. Hubs and I are overly joyed about becoming parents! He's a pro, he has a daugther already...this is my numero uno.
Like any mother all I really want is a healthy baby. However if I had my choice, I would definitely choose a boy :)

Everyone have a great day!

Bun in the oven

Something very big happened last week. Bigger than anything that has ever happened in my life.
I found out I am pregnant. For the first time. In my life. :)
We couldn't be more excited!
My first OBGYN appointment is next month!

Pumpkin Cake Cookies - 2 Ingredients

You may be saying, "Pumpkin? In Spring?!" Yes...exactly! You can never have too much or too little pumpkin anything or at anytime of the year! These cookies are so good! My mouth is watering just thinking of them!

If you can’t find spice cake, you could use yellow cake and throw in some pumpkin pie spice.

Mix them together…

Mix together first by hand, then beat on low (it can get a little messy, so use precaution)

Don't be selfish when it comes to testing the goods...let the little ones or your fur-babies enjoy the
Pumpkin-y goodness ;)

On a lined baking sheet (use parchment paper) drop batter (rounded tablespoon) about 2 inches apart.
(mine weren't perfect tablespoons...but they all taste the same, right?)

Bake for 13 - 15 minutes

Pumpkin Cake Cookies - 2 Ingredients

  • 1 (15 oz) can of pumpkin
  • 1 box spice cake mix

    1. Preheat oven to 350°
    2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper
    3. Mix your pumpkin and cake mix together in a medium bowl until there are no more lumps.
    4. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
    5. Bake for 13-15 minutes, until edges start to golden.
    6. Remove from oven and allow to cool 5 minutes on your baking sheet. Transfer to wire rack to finish cooling.
    7. Frost if desired.

    My Pyrex wishlist ♥

I have long admired all and any Pyrex I have come across. I am not a snob to any 'un-popular' patterns. I love all Pyrex the same. Of course we all have our favorites... I own only a couple of my favorite patterns/colors :(

    This is my wish list...

I have yellow and green of the primary colors nesting bowls. Almost there!

I have 0 friendship Pyrex...I desperately want any I can put my hands on!

I want a complete set of ALL butterprint! Butterprint reminds me of my momma!

I LOVE the New Dot Polka Dot mixing bowls. I saw an incomplete set last weekend while I was thrifting. They were asking $15 for blue and red. Why didn't I buy them?!?!

I love butterprint and I love pink...so it's only natural that one of my favorite Pyrex patterns is pink butterprint, right? Right! I would love to happen upon a cinderella mixing bowl!

I am determined to make my wish list a reality. It may take time and a lot of picking through things I don't want to even touch...but as God as my witness, I will have my Pyrex!  :)

    Pyrex, patterns and pancakes

Mmm....I couldn't resist cooking some pancakes this morning. I added in some vanilla extract to make them even more scrumptious...and boy let me tell ya, they were awesome! I didn't get a picture of my beauties because I was too busy stuffing my face. I busted out the butterprint to help me out.

I picked up an awesome piece of fabric that I have NO idea what to do with. Any ideas? I paid $1 for this fun fabric!

    Happy Hump Day!!!

    Oh me, oh my...

What a nasty, gloomy day outside. I sure hope the sun pokes back through those clouds very soon!
This past weekend was beautiful. I went thrifting with my step daughter who insisted on telling everyone we passed that we were looking for pink Pyrex. She also told the other thrifters why you are not supposed to put Pyrex in the dishwasher. There wasn't one person that didn't crack up at her. She is 3 :)

I was unable to get pictures of the 2 pieces of Pyrex I found, I will take pictures tonight. These are some pictures I did get though.

    Enjoy your Monday!

    Friday the 13th...Vintage Style

*Insert Friday the 13th music here* I am personally not a superstitious person. Friday the 13th is just another day to me. I do love watching the old Friday the 13th movies on this day though! It reminds me of when I was a young girl and my brothers would scare me half to death anytime we'd watch the movies. LOL! Ahhh...
I wanted to share with you some of my recent thrifted finds.

            Happy Friday the 13th y'all!

    Introducing...My 1957 Deville Travel Trailer

About a month ago, hubs and I took a road trip to possibly purchase a 1973 Serro Scotty. When we pulled up to check her out... :( needless to say the pics online looked NOTHING like the Scotty in person. We were a little disappointed until the kind lil church lady said, "If you don't like the Scotty, I have a ton of canned hams sitting on my property we can go look at." I said to hubs, "I sure hope we didn't take a 3 hour trip for nothing."
As we approached the travel trailer lady's house, my jaw dropped. It was vintage travel trailer HEAVEN! I practically jumped out of our moving truck to run and explore what was available. There must have been 20 trailers on her property. After looking at 10 or so, I walked out of a 63' Shasta that was in terrible shape and turned the corner to the Deville. I yelled, "Honey, get your butt over here, I've found my baby!"... This thing was fully packed with vintage charm! All original wood and cabinetry! For being 55 years old, she was perfect! Needless to say, my first reaction was...WHERE DO WE SIGN!
Now, she is all ours! We named her after my step daughter's nickname..."Lil T".

Here are some pics of our new baby! These pics were taken the night we got her home. We have done quite a bit of work to her in the last month. 2 walls have been torn down and replaced. I am oilclothing the dinette table and cleaning up the original copper fixtures, all of the chrome, the stainless steel window frames, and all cabinet fixtures with Brasso, currently. I will update you with monthly progress pics!
