Which Are Your Favorites?

It's a wet, rainy day here in Kentucky. I decided to stay at home and do some cleaning. Well, my intentions of cleaning were taken over by Pinterest. I haven't been on my profile in months!
It got me thinking...
What are the most admired item(s) on any of your Pinterest boards?
I think mine are probably the following...

What are your favorites?
I hope everyone is having a beautiful Monday! If it's raining in your parts, stay dry!

A Large Haul of Vintage

I visited one of my favorite thrift stores the other day. I found some real goodies!
Thrifting isn't looking quite so bleak after all :)
I found this little vintage turquoise suitcase in a fun booth. The owner of the booth was there re-arraigning some of her goodies. Her and I got caught up in conversation and she cut me a deal on this cutie. It was marked, 4.99, she cut the price down to 2.99. As you can tell it needs a little cleaning but...it came with 2 pouches and a key for the outer lock.
I about flipped out when I saw these beauties sitting on a bottom shelf. Turquoise Homer Laughlin S&P shakers, 1.99!! What a fun add to my collection!
Pink copper creamer, .50.
Vintage baby planter, .75. This will be a fun add to a baby room. (when the time comes)
Isn't this baby picture sweet?! The frame needs a good cleaning and paint job but I just had to get it. Yet another add to a baby's room when the times comes :) 1.99.
I don't particularly care for the frame on this picture. It needs a paint job as well. 1.29.
Vintage hand sewn pillowcase, .75.
I can't wait to put this fabric calender out from the holidays! It's from the year I was born so I had to snatch it up! .99.
One of my favorite finds of the whole haul. Vintage His & Hers pillowcases! So sweet! Hubby liked this find. He said, "now you won't be stealing my pillow!" Lol! These will be perfect for our new Tempurpedic pillows. .99 a piece.
Vintage mirrored vanity tray. Yet another find that needs a good cleaning. I plan on painting it pink. It will sit nicely on my antique vanity table. 1.99.
A trip to the thrift store wouldn't be complete without a Pyrex find. I about jumped over a old lady to grab this gorgeous piece up! 1 1/2 quart 473 Silhouette (daisy). 2.50.
After doing a little research about this piece I think it is more rare than I thought.
I read on Pyrex Love that this piece was an unknown pattern and than later named.
If you have any info on this piece, please share!

Have a wonderful, thrifty day!

Cheesy Potato Casserole

Why is it I feel the need to say, "duuude" when something is funny, sad or tastes good?
I don't know...but all I do know is, this recipe for Cheesy Potato Casserole, will NOT let you down!
Talk about comfort food on center stage!

You will need:

  • 1  30oz bag of Country Style Hash Browns
  • 2 - cans of 10 1/2oz Cream of Chicken (most recipes call for 1 can but I have made this a few times  before and it DOES NOT taste as creamy and good with 1 can, trust me...use 2)
  •  2  cups of sour cream
  • 2  cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped onion (I HATE onions so I barely put any in and then add about 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder)
  • 2 cups of crushed corn flakes
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
    Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or butter. (I go the oldschool route and butter the baking dish)
2. In a large bowl, slowly mix together soup, sour cream, salt and pepper. Stir in cheese, onion and Hash Browns until well mixed. Spoon evenly into baking dish.

3. In a medium bowl, mix together corn flakes and melted butter. Spread evenly on top of Hash Brown mixture.
4. Bake uncovered for about 45 minutes, or until hot and bubbly. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

This is one of those dishes where it still tastes good re-heated!
    It was so yummy! :)

Vintage Shadowbox Miniatures & I Won!!!

I was able to go through more vintage goodies that belonged to my mother just recently.
Beneath a ton of boxes and an inch of dust, I found a box that held these little cuties!
These shadowbox miniatures are from various countries in Europe. As I've said before, I was born in Germany (Army brat) and while there, my mother collected quite a few fun things...these miniatures being some of them. I can't wait to find a shadowbox, spiff these lil' guys up and showcase my mother's treasures! :)
Enjoy!

Back in June, my blogging buddy, Cindy @ Retro Revival had a fun giveaway that I participated in. And....I WON!!!! The first giveaway I've won! I hope there are more to come ;)
PINK & GREEN! Two of my favorite colors!
Make sure you check out Cindy's blog! She has a bright and fun blog just stock full of inspiration! She also has her own online shop! It's filled with her wonderful vintage creations! She is...OH SO talented!
